Why I’m an Ambassador for Yoga through YogaClub

There’s so much more to yoga than what originally meets the eye. To some, we may just look like we’re doing really long stretches. To others, it may seem like we’re obsessed with getting on our hands. And, of course, some people who are familiar with Instagram yoga may even think that yoga is reserved only for the skinny and beautiful (btw, if you think this, then try switching up your following)

Well, I’m here to break it to you: none of these stereotypes are true. Yoga is just as mental as it is physical, so if you’re looking at the practice from the outside, you’ll never be able to get the full picture. Plus, if you think yoga is only for the small and the fit, then you’re wrong again (news flash: yoga is for every BODY)!

Viewing yoga from the outside without trying the practice is bound to raise some questions. So, before I talk about YogaClub and why I became an ambassador for this awesome yoga apparel brand, we first have to figure out why people do yoga in the first place.

Why Do People Do Yoga?

It’s been said that over “90 percent of people come to yoga for flexibility, stress relief, health, and physical fitness. But, for most people, their primary reason for doing yoga will change. Two-thirds of yoga students and 85 percent of yoga teachers have a change of heart regarding why they do yoga — most often changing to spirituality or self-actualization, a sense of fulfilling their potential.” See, yoga is the practice of kindness and self-compassion, especially in growing children and as it is continued can encourage self-awareness and self-development.

The brutal reality is that the practice of yoga is not about headstands, your brain, or getting followers on a yoga Instagram. If it were, it’d be just like taking a Zumba class or trying CrossFit. Yoga is headstands, yes, but also about your brain and body connecting as one and transcending into happiness, clarity, focus, disciple, and self-worth. It is a way of life. “THAT’S why I do yoga, Becky. That’s why.”

What’s an Ambassador and Why Did I Choose YogaClub?

To me, to be an ambassador for anything let alone YogaClub is an honor. It’s taking a pledge to uphold standard, maintain peace around the topic, and spread unbiased knowledge.

No matter what you choose to stand for — stand tall.

So out of all of the yoga apparel brands out there, how did I decide to take a pledge as an ambassador to YogaClub? Let me tell you it’s not just the goodie box you have probably heard of (and if you haven’t heard of YogaClub — where have you been girlfriend?). Let me tell you a little bit about the box part of YogaClub, first:

YogaClub delivers hand curated yoga wear from the best yoga brands directly to your doorstep. After you take the style quiz, a YogaClub stylist will prepare a perfect outfit for you each month based on your preferences and the season.

YogaClub currently offers their Guru membership, which is a three-piece yoga outfit including leggings, a sports bra and a yoga top. The value of the outfit is always at least $160, but members get it for only $79/month! If you aren’t a fan of a yoga clothing subscription box, then you can shop from YogaClub’s Marketplace, which has amazing activewear pieces for an affordable price.

So, right now you’re probably thinking, “Okay, Okay Krissi…it’s a membership box. You’re just trying to sell me a pair of awesome leggings, so what?”

Yoga babe, YogaClub just STARTS as an affordable way to get activewear from high end yoga brands—that is just the icing on the cake. There is a whole COMMUNITY around YogaClub that is spreading everyday across the country. They’re so inclusive of their community that they now even offer sizes up to 3X, which is a true dedication to their mission of providing affordable activewear for all women!

This community goes beyond a YogaClub subscription. YogaClub created My Yoga Journey, which is a private Facebook community for members and Tribe Leaders, like me! While YogaClub started the group, it has absolutely flourished into so much more. We offer endless advice on all things yoga — not just yoga clothes. We welcome everyone involved in yoga to participate in discussions, activities and super fun challenges.
